Non-Destructive Testing


TÜV Saarland offers testing services compliant with DIN EN ISO 9712 procedures, and constantly develops new, innovative testing methods for a wide variety of customer requirements in the industrial sector. At the same time, we provide additional training in this field, and certify your staff.

Training and Further Training (ZfP)

VECTOR TUB GmbH provides training at three qualification levels for the TÜV Saarland Group. So far, over one thousand participants have taken part in and successfully completed the events. A key element of the training is the testing procedures in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9712 standard. We additionally provide courses on specialist topics such as, for example, digital radiology, phased array, ToFD and infrared thermography.
In Hattingen, course participants are in the hands of one of the most modern TÜV training centres in Europe, which offers them ideal training conditions.

Personnel Certification (ZfP)

SECTOR Cert – a TÜV Saarland Group company
With locations in the USA, Germany, Europe and Asia, SECTOR Cert GmbH has a comprehensive international network for personnel qualification and certification at its disposal. The accredited programmes meet the requirements of personnel certification according to the DIN EN ISO 9712, DIN ISO 18436 and DIN EN ISO 9972 standards, the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and the ASME B&PV Code for employer certification, in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189.

Testing Services (ZfP)

Competent, customer-oriented and innovative: Through its companies, SG Qualitätssicherung GmbH and ZWP Anlagenrevision GmbH, TÜV Saarland offers testing services in the traditional fields of radiographic testing (RT), ultrasound testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), visual testing (VT), eddy current testing (ET), leakage testing (LT) and mobile hardness testing (HT).
Additionally, we constantly develop new, innovative test processes in collaboration with a variety of research centres. These are mostly applications for the industrial sector, e.g. tubing inspections, and for infrastructure facilities, e.g. mast testing. These include:

  • LIMAtest: The ultrasound testing procedure for street light masts (LIMA) is accredited as non-destructive, in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The masts are not damaged, and not exposed to mechanical stress. The procedure immediately identifies any damage. The test results include binding assessments of the masts for structural stability for up to 20 calendar years, without requiring subsequent testing. Mast operators are therefore able to draw up precise maintenance schedules, and to calculate maintenance costs years into the future. https://www.tuev-saar.de/en/produkte/lima-test/
  • HOMAtest: The HOMAtest (wooden mast test) is based on the drill resistance measurement principle. This precise procedure allows the easy determination of structures, interior defects and the residual wall thicknesses of trees and timber. The procedure is perfectly suited for testing playgrounds, wooden masts, bridges and pile dwellings.
  • CORRfinder: This computer-supported procedure is perfectly suited for non-destructive testing of tubing, but also of all kinds of masts. Measurements are automatically evaluated and displayed in the form of an unrolled lateral surface view (scan). In just a few minutes, the tester gains an insight into the condition of the test object, regardless of its surface geometry. Without fully exposing a tube, corroded areas at a distance of up to 25 m (50 m in both directions) can be localised, and their effect on its functionality and stability can be assessed.
